AP Day 25

Lab 4 Reports turned in. Unit 2 Quiz #2 was administered. Following this, we continued our discussion of the photoelectric effect, defined ionization energy and performed calculations related to the photoelectric effect. Next, we began our discussion of electron distribution in the atom, electron configurations and ground state orbital notations.

HW: EDpuzzle videos

Tomorrow: Continue discussion of electron configurations; discuss Photoelectron spectroscopy (PES). Unit Test is Friday.

Upon completing the Electron Energy & Light POGIL activity, we introduced the concept of Coulombic Attraction. This is a key concept that can be used to explain many of the behaviors & patterns we see in our periodic trends. We also introduced the photoelectric effect, in preparation for tomorrow's discussion of Photoelectron Spectroscopy (PES).

Tomorrow: Unit 2 Quiz #2 on light calculations, Coulombic Attraction, and the photoelectric effect.
