This site allows the viewer to view the
Periodic Table with various property values displayed.
A Periodic Table of the
Elements at Los Alamos National Laboratory
http://pearl1.lanl.gov/periodic/default.htm
This site provides background information on
each element, as well as some more obscure items (i.e. - its current cost,
special handling procedures)
Environmental Chemistry.com
- Periodic Table of the Elements
http://environmentalchemistry.com/yogi/periodic
This site provides basic background
information, as well as element names in different languages and health/safety
information.
The Comic Book Periodic
Table of the Elements
http://www.uky.edu/Projects/Chemcomics/
This site contains comic book references to
various elements of the periodic table...some as far back as the 1950's and
beyond!
The Visual Elements Periodic
Table
http://www.chemsoc.org/viselements/pages/periodic_table.html
This site provides viewers with artistic
representations of the periodic relationship of various properties (such as
atomic size, ionization energies, and densities). (Portions of the site require
Macromedia Flash)
The Pictorial Periodic Table
http://chemlab.pc.maricopa.edu/periodic/periodic.html
This site allows viewers to isolate elements
by different ranges of properties, as well as graphically illustrate the
relationships that elements exhibit.
CHEMystery: The Periodic
Table of the Elements
http://library.thinkquest.org/3659/pertable/
This site was designed by high school
students. It provides not only information about the individual elements, but
it also provides background into the history and organization of the Periodic
Table.
1001 Periodic Table of
Elements Quiz Questions
http://www.1001-periodic-table-quiz-questions.com
This site provides a number of different
interactive quizzes through which you can practice your element symbol and
naming skills. A good site to practice for our weekly element quizzes!
Chemistry Drill for Kids!
http://www.edu4kids.com/chem/
This interactive site helps viewers to truly
understand the set-up of the Periodic Table and how to navigate the information
that is presented.
Periodic Table ADventure
http://web.buddyproject.org/web017/web017/quest.html
This webquest requires students to perform research on a chosen element and
present an ad-campaign to support their element.
The National Mole Day Foundation
http://www.moleday.org
Check this site out for everything "Mole Day" related; everything from jokes and
songs, to t-shirts and cookie-cutters. A must-see for any Mole Day enthusiast!

well as structural information about different chemicals substances.
MDL Information Systems, Inc. - Chime Plug-in
(Recommended for Molecule of the
Month page)
http://www.mdlchime.com/chime/default.asp
The Chime plug-in is used by Netscape and Internet Explorer web browsers to
allow visitors to view and interact with molecular structures on various web
sites. Most sites that contain interactive molecular models will require the
Chime plug-in.
ACD Labs - ChemSketch 5.0 Freeware
http://www.acdlabs.com/download/chemsk.html
This freeware program allows students to construct molecular diagrams which
can be viewed and manipulated in 3-dimensional space or inserted into documents
(i.e. - for lab reports). ChemSketch can also be used to predict chemical and
physical properties, such as electronegativity, melting point, boiling point,
index of refraction, and density.
